Before I move to Iowa City in June, I wanted to do one last print in Kirksville. I had intended to do some kind of Monumental-type piece, immortalizing the town through my own Artistic Vision, but that kind of work is (for me) all talk and no action. So I did this, instead.

THE HOW

There are three images. Each one is printed in three different colors (Red, Blue, Yellow), but rotated between each print run. All of the six possible orders of the colors are used for each image (R+B+Y, R+Y+B, Y+B+R, etc).  This gives 18 different prints made up of essentially the same elements.

The next step is to try this with more figurative imagery, using colors taken from the subject itself, and make everything nine feet tall. But that will all have to wait.

The piece is still sort-of inspired by Kirksville, inasmuch as I found this record in a shop downtown, and basically ripped it off.
